Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s rom-com Loveyapa has earned Rs 1.25 crore at the box-office on Day 1, as per Sacnilk.com. Directed by Advait Chandan and written by Sneha Desai, the film also stars Ashutosh Rana and Kiku Sharda in pivotal roles.

On Friday, the film had an occupancy of 9.56 % with morning shows accounting for 5.65 %, afternoon shows filling 8.27 % and 15.77 % for night shows. It is facing competition from Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravi Kumar, which has minted Rs 2.75 crore on the first day.

Loveyapa is the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Love Today, which was directed by Pradeep Ranganathan. It is produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram, Kalpathi S. Ganesh, Kalpathi S. Suresh & Pradeep, Srishti Behl, Bhavna Talwar and Madhu Mantena.

CE’s review of the film reads, “The adapted screenplay balances the masculine tone of the original and gives an equal focus to Bani and her feelings. It also makes the scenes tighter without staying too long on an emotion. However, it is Advait’s storytelling that misses the mark in bringing out the essence of a moment.”
